Computers & GeoEngineering, Inc (CGI)

CGI specializes in developing software for rational and effective solution of Soil-Structure-Interaction (SSI) problems for use in addressing the interface encountered in engineering design. CGI uses the strain wedge method in modeling variety of SSI problems encountered in engineering projects.

Risk Targeted Performance Based Engineering approaches for design require inclusion of proper representation of SSI issues in the computer models. CGI computer programs DFSAP and SSAP help in developing the proper soil-foundation-structure-interaction handshake parameters in developing responses for the performance based design.


Dr. Jogeshwar Preet Singh

born, in January 1944, after having his schooling at Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, graduated in Civil Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala in 1964. His pursuit for higher education took him to the USA in 1965 where he received his MS in Soil Mechanics in 1966 and Ph.D. in Earthquake Engineering in 1981, both from the University of California at Berkeley.


Dr. Mohamed Ashour

is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department of the College of Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).

Dr. Ashour consulted on a number of national and international projects on foundation and soil liquefaction problems (California, Nevada, Washington and Italy). He also taught short courses and workshops on the design of deep foundations and delivered several presentations in conferences, meetings, and seminars. Dr. Ashour teaches a number of graduate and undergraduate courses on soil mechanics, foundations and earth structures. He is a member of the Deep Foundation Institute (DFI) and the American Society of Civil engineers (ASCE), and a reviewer for several journals.
